Setting the scene

Sustainable Diss 2030 Chapter 2 Setting the scene

Download the booklet (1 Mbyte) and its cover, including map, here.
This section, from pages 6 – 10 of the booklet, gives an overview of a sustainable Diss in 2030, under the headings:

  • Historic town centre
  • Diss Sustainability Park
  • Diss Eco-industrial estate

It explains how the transition to sustainability came about, not through enlightenment but through necessity. It explains how a renewed sense of community enabled people to live reasonable lives with much less energy use and much less money.

One Response to “Setting the scene”

  • The ’setting the scene’ section starts to sketch out sustainable living in a future Diss, which is much less consumerist (lots of used and second hand goods), much more social and cultural, and much more sound environmentally.
